The Difference: Our StyleCurrent world master's weightlifting champion Debbie Millet and elite olympic weightlifting coach Mike Carroll have partnered to open Utah's first olympic weightlifting center. The center is in response to a serious void along the Wasatch front for a real, work-oriented gym. "This is no big gym where you feel you're on display. This is a small, private gym. A place where everyone knows each other's name and are sharing training advice and motivating each other to make real progress." Says Debbie. It is a place where elite athletes are training alongside pre-teen beginners. The center will provide 4 wood 8x8 platforms, dedicated stretching area, and core strength equipment. It also includes equipment for any strength training or cardio program. The goal of the center is to provide a training facility for olympic-style weightlifting. The center will offer programs for beginners as well as top athletes. It will be the home of Team Praxis, whose members compete in state, national and international weightlifting events. Coach Mike Carroll's time will be dedicated completely to the center. He will provide sports performance training for all levels ranging from Jr. high-school soccer or basketball players wanting to significantly improve a vertical jump or on-field agility, to professional athletes trying to lower their time in the 40 or break a world record. Because of the center's intimate environment, it provides a low-profile setting for those wanting to focus on their personal cardio goals. Come before work or during your lunch hour and you will likely be training in private. With no contract and a myriad of training or gym use options, this is the most affordable way to achieve any fitness or performance goal. We welcome loading your hands up with chalk, dropping heavy weights from overhead, hanging from the sky for spinal decompression, the smell of menthol, jumping on plyo-boxes, sprinting through agility ladders, jumping rope, and any other training essential that your neighbors and the big gyms won't tolerate. And as a matter of fact...come hang out, talk weightlifting, listen to the blues, and have a banana or apple with us. A few of the training center options:
